As a lot of people are at home and we are lucky enough to have nice weather and we can be in our gardens, please be considerate about how you are behaving. We know that ‘our homes are our castles’, and we think we can do what we want, but we have already had complaints about smoky bonfires and are now getting complaints about noisy music. The Parish Council does not have any powers to deal with this, so advice is that any complaints need to be made to CBC Environmental Protection Team.
BUT, we can urge you to be considerate. There are more people at home and therefore more people around, so if you want to listen to loud music in your garden, please wear headphones and then play it as loud as you want. Music travels a long distance in this calm weather and whilst our key workers and others are trying to sleep, relax or just enjoy ‘their castle’ they do not want or need to be interrupted by insensitive neighbours who make too much noise.
Tempers can easily fray at the moment and patience may be short, but do be considerate to others – you may be disturbing someone that you would want to rely on in future if you become ill or need help and support. Turning it down or wearing head phones costs nothing. And please don’t light bonfires at the moment as this is really inconsiderate too. We’re all in this together so lets act like we ourselves would want to be treated.
Thank you!
